Residents of Pallipalayam associate themselves more with Erode rather than Namakkal district, where the small town is located. That’s because Erode is just six km away whereas Namakkal town is more than 60 km away. On a daily basis, these residents have to just cross a bridge across the Cauvery to reach Erode to purchase essentials such as farm products and textiles. But the recent lockdown has hit them hard.
