While Chennai suburbs have been receiving light showers in the last few days, the core city has been largely left with nothing but an overcast sky. This, according to experts, is due to wind convergence in interior locations. The city and its suburbs have so far a rain deficit of nearly 79%. But all is not lost, as weathermen have forecast light rain in the next 48 hours and weather watchers said the core city will receive some spells from this weekend.
