Duty 1st for this TN soldier, not b'day or home

Havildar K Palani, 40, the soldier from Ramanathapuram who died in a clash with Chinese forces in Ladakh on Monday night, had skipped his birthday party and housewarming ceremony on June 3 to guard the country’s border. On Wednesday, his mortal remains will reach his modest home which he so painstakingly built but did not live to see.
