'Seawater intrudes 700m into along ECR'

They say development comes at a cost. In the case of East Coast Road the cost has been water. Indiscriminate pumping of groundwater by residents and inadequate recharge has led to seawater intrusion up to 700m inland from Adyar to Muttukadu on ECR, Anna University researchers have found.
