Tamil Nadu: Jasmine prices soar ahead of fest

The cost of a kilogram of jasmine in the Koyambedu wholesale market increased from Friday’s Rs 450 to Rs 600 on Saturday. Vendors said the cost is likely to go up further on Sunday and Monday as demand for the flower is likely to increase for Vinayaka Chaturthi celebrations.
