Construction of Metro 2.0 could kick up 32 tonnes of dust in Chennai

Chennai endured pollution, traffic diversions and congestion for nearly 10 years to get a 45km metro rail network. Now with the 118.9km phase-2 planned to link the city and its suburbs by 2026, motorists will have to put up with high pollution levels in the coming years while the metro rail corridors take shape.
