Chola era pillars with Tamil inscriptions found

Two Chola era stone pillars with Tamil inscriptions dating back to 10th century CE have been found near Timmayampatti in Pudukottai district. The inscriptions on granite pillars erected on either side of a sluice of a water tank in the village have mention of people assigned the first right on the water in the pond.
