TN: Girl wanted to marry Dalit, set ablaze by mom

A woman burned her 17-year-old daughter alive on Tuesday night to stop her from marrying her dalit boyfriend. Janani died at the government hospital in Nagappattinam while her mother, Uma Maheshwari, who also set herself afire, is undergoing treatment with 80% burns.
