Thiruvalluvar statue at Pillaiyarpatti to be fenced

The statue of Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar at Pillaiyarpatti in Thanjavur will be fenced to protect it from miscreants and political activists. The statue was desecrated last Sunday, after attempts to saffronise Thiruvalluvar by the BJP created a political furore.
