On puja eve, wholesale prices of flowers crash

Wholesale flower prices in the city crashed on Friday, ahead of Ayudha Pooja, but customers could not benefit as neighbourhood vendors continued to sell at inflated rates. Heavy rain over the past couple of days had flooded the temporary wholesale market at Vanagaram and left it covered in sludge, preventing retail traders from entering on Friday and leading to a drop in prices.
