Court fines, lets off 10 pilgrims from Indonesia

More than five months after 10 Indonesian nationals who came to the country to attend the Tablighi Jamaat conference and were booked under sections of the Foreigners’ Act and Epidemic Diseases Act for flouting norms in Kancheepuram after the pandemic outbreak in the country, a district court has let them off, slapping a fine of Rs 1000 each on them.
