Chennai: 82-yr-old fights off woman robber

An 82-year-old West Tambaram resident on Friday fought off a younger woman and forced her to abandon a robbery attempt and flee, police said. The accused, who came ‘searching’ for a house on rent, threw chilli powder in Ambika’s face and tried to snatch her 10-sovereign gold chain, but the elderly woman held on to it and screamed for help, an officer said.
