Chennai’s water supply can last 6 months

The city’s water managers say there is enough water in the four reservoirs to supply residents for the next six months without any problem. This, they say, is because Andhra Pradesh has released more than 5 tmcft (thousand million cubic feet) of water to Chennai under the Telugu Ganga project. The last time the state received so much water from its neighbout was in 2015.
