AAI plans to improve infra at Chennai airport

In addition to looking at new technology in the air traffic and navigational wing to enhance aircraft-handling capacity, Airports Authority of India (AAI) is improving ground infrastructure by building parking bays, a fire station with watch tower and rapid exit taxiways to increase the number of planes that can be handled daily from the current 350-400 to around 500 a day in the coming years.
