Covid: With 147 deaths, Sat turns TN’s deadliest day yet

Tamil Nadu reported 147 Covid-19 deaths on Saturday — the highest number of deaths reported in a day since the pandemic began in 2020. The state reported 19,588 new cases, which took the active cases 1,17,405. The cumulative case tally touched 11.86 lakh and the toll reached 14,193.
