Take action against bar association: Madras HC

Observing that Bar leaders are neither labour leaders or political leaders to call for a strike which is illegal as per the judgments of the Supreme Court, the Madras high court on Monday directed the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to take appropriate action under Section 14 – A of the Tamil Nadu Advocates' Welfare Fund Act, 1987, against the Nagercoil Bar Association, for calling for the strike in support of farmers.
