Mayiladuthurai becomes 38th dist of Tamil Nadu

Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Monday formally inaugurated the 38th district of Tamil Nadu, Mayiladuthurai, through video conferencing from Chennai, bringing much cheer to residents, traders and politicians who have been demanding it for two decades. Carved out from Nagapattinam, it consists of rural and semi-urban regions with a mix of traders, farmers, agriculture labourers and the fishing community which offer a lot of scope for development on the economic front.
