Snapped live cables: A step away from death

Every year, hundreds of people are electrocuted in the state, a number of them due to the snapping of overhead lines, especially during the monsoon. Despite calls to address this issue by public and the Madras high court, the authorities have made little progress. On Friday, five electrocution deaths were reported in and around the city, with snapped wires killing four.
