MGR party says ‘no’ to ‘battery torch’ icon

Founder-president of MGR Makkal Katchi, ‘MGR’ Viswanathan has said “no” to the ‘battery torch’ symbol allotted to his party by the Election Commission of India (ECI) for contesting the forthcoming assembly polls in Tamil Nadu. He has communicated the same to the ECI. This gives hopes to actor Kamal Hassan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) to secure the symbol for the party in Tamil Nadu too. The ECI had already allotted the symbol to the MNM in Puducherry.
