Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday deputed 11 ministers to take up rescue and relief work in Cuddalore, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Chengalpet, Kancheepuram and Chennai districts affected by cyclone ‘Burevi’ and announced ₹10 lakh each to the families of seven who died in rain-related incidents. At least 1.21 lakh people from low-lying areas across TN were shifted to 515 relief camps until Saturday evening. At least 14 NDRF teams have been stationed in six districts.
