BJP Vel Yatra ends with a whimper

The yatra, that sought to catalyse Hindu consolidation, concluded at the Muragan temple at Tiruchendur on Monday as planned, but without much fanfare. It had hit roadblocks from the beginning. The state government refused consent to the rally citing the pandemic. BJP state president L Murugan, who vowed to go ahead with the programme, got arrested with his supporters every day he took to streets.
