IIT-Madras develops solar-powered survey craft

IIT-M has developed a solar-powered unmanned autonomous survey craft to do hydrographic and oceanographic surveys in Indian ports and inland waterways. This has the potential to offer an indegenous alternative to the expensive foreign vessels used currently.
