The city corporation has selected a 2,500-strong force to assist it in its slum focus strategy. These outreach workers, who are volunteers with various NGOs, will be deployed across the 1,979 unnotified slums in the city for creating awareness about the do's & don'ts and carry out passive surveillance, according to senior corporation officials. They will begin work from Saturday (May 23), an official release said.
