Tuticorin: PIL seeks demolition of Sterlite unit

A retired professor has moved the Madras high court seeking to completely demolish Vedanta’s Sterlite copper smeltering plant in Tuticorin and restore the site to its previous state by remediating the environment, including the soil and water. The copper smelter has been lying closed by the state government since May 28, 2018 on pollution grounds.
