Caste clashes: Vedaranyam continues to be tense

Most of the shops and commercial establishments remained closed at Vedaranyam in Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu on Monday, a day after clashes broke out between dalits and thevars. Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) members staged protests in several parts of the state.
