Rainwater inlets carry sewage into Madipakkam lake

Sewage is being let into the Madipakkam lake near Karthikeyapuram through rainwater inlets, much to the chagrin of residents. Local activists blame former councillors and civic body officials for the mess, saying they connected sewer lines from houses in ward 187 to the rainwater inlets that lead to the lake.
