TN: Villagers make century-old govt school ‘smart’

Until recently, students from the government elementary school in Kongarpalayam in Gobichettipalayam taluk used to flock to nearby private schools with better infrastructure. The situation has, however, reversed now with the school getting a makeover with four smart classrooms, thanks to the efforts of its alumni and the villagers, who together put in Rs 10 lakh for the purpose.
