Chennai: Crafts Council of India to conduct show

India observes August 7 as National Handloom Day to commemorate the Swadeshi Movement, which was launched on the same day in 1905 in the Calcutta Town Hall to protest partition of Bengal by the British. The movement was meant for reviving domestic products and production processes.
