Manual scavengers: Chennai corp gets notice

The National Commission for Safai Karamcharis, which falls under the Union ministry of social justice and empowerment, has taken suo motu cognizance of a TOI report about workers involved in manual scavenging in T Nagar and issued notice to Greater Chennai Corporation commissioner G Prakash seeking a reply.
