Madras HC quashes land acquisition in Tamil Nadu under three state laws

In a setback to the Tamil Nadu government and its ambitious industrial and development projects worth more than Rs 80,000 crore, the Madras high court on Wednesday declared unconstitutional the exemption provided to three pieces of state legislation from the purview of the land acquisition act introduced by the Centre in 2013.
