As water level goes down, borewell rates go up

As the water crisis rages, borewell companies are literally ‘digging’ gold. The cost of digging 1ft of soil in the city has doubled from Rs 150 to Rs 300 thanks to increasing demand, acute water shortage and lack of manpower. The rates on the outskirts are lesser.
