Pongal '19: TN govt to give Rs 1K to each family

The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday announced Rs 1,000 for each family for celebrating Pongal. This is applicable to the whole state except Tiruvarur district, where the model code of conduct is in force in view of the bypolls scheduled for January 28.
