Four days before the assembly election in Tamil Nadu, income tax officials on Friday conducted searches at the homes of DMK president M K Stalin’s daughter and son-in-law in Chennai and the party’s Karur candidate Senthil Balaji in Aravakurichi, triggering criticism from opposition leaders across the country and a complaint to the Election Commission of India.
