Chennai region reports 1,447 new Covid cases

Tamil Nadu added 2,579 new Covid-19 cases and 19 deaths to the state registry, which pushed the cumulative death toll to 12,719 when case tally touched 8,86673. There were 15,879 active cases after the state discharged 1,527 people.
