Madurai’s Covid-19 death rate 2nd highest in TN

The Covid-19 death toll in Madurai district crossed 200 on Saturday, making it the district with the third highest number of deaths in Tamil Nadu after Chennai (1,989) and Chengalpattu (222). The death rate in Madurai is at 2.1%, which is only behind Chennai’s 2.1% in the state. This is despite the recent reconciliation of 444 Covid-19 deaths to Chennai’s tally.
