HC refuses contempt proceedings against teachers

The Madras high court on Friday made it clear that it cannot initiate contempt for court proceedings against government teachers in Tamil Nadu who are boycotting work along with other government employees under the JACTO-GEO (Joint Action Committee of Teachers’ Organisation–Government Employees Organisation) banner, as the strike has not been stayed or declared illegal.
