Eight killed in 130 road accidents in Chennai New Year revelry

At least eight people died in 18 major road accidents during New Year celebrations in Chennai between Monday noon and 6am on Tuesday. About 105 people sustained minor injuries in about 130 road accidents reported across the city. While two people committed suicide at their houses in separate New Year-related incidents on Tuesday in the city, three people died in road accidents in Coimbatore district.
