TN: Bus fares zoom ahead of Diwali; govt begins crackdown

Travelling by air conditioned private buses has become expensive for Diwali. Fares to Madurai, Coimbatore, Tuticorin and other popular routes from the city have touched Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000. Return fares are more or less the same for days soon after the festival.
