Man dies after being thrashed by cop in Salem

A 45-year-old man died on Wednesday a day after he was thrashed with a lathi by a special police sub-inspector (SSI) at Ethapur in Salem district. The SSI, R Periasamy, has been arrested for murder. Chief minister M K Stalin has announced Rs 10 lakh compensation to the family of the victim.
