At a time when farmers raising indigenous bulls are facing several financial hardships, the Tamil Nadu Bovine Breeding Act, 2019, will only make it harder for the farmers to raise non-castrated indigenous bulls. Harsh punishment like ₹50,000 fine for owning unlicensed bulls and forcing farmers to kill those which are declared to be unfit for reproduction, will force them out of the activity.
