Baby found abandoned in Madurai

A newborn baby abandoned on the roadside in Melur was rescued by police on Thursday morning. Its condition was stated to be stable after being treated at Melur government hospital. The baby boy, which doctors said was preterm by four weeks, was later shifted to Government Rajaji hospital for observation.
