DMK'S Muslim allies wary of AIMIM eyeing TN

Back in 2016, not many paid attention to All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) that contested in only two assembly segments in Tamil Nadu. Five years later, AIMIM, identified in TN as 'Owaisi's party', has become the subject of speculation in the state, after it expressed interest to contest more seats in TN. Coming against the backdrop of AIMIM's success in the Bihar assembly elections, Muslim parties in TN are wary of the new entrant which managed to poll about 10,000 votes in Vaniyambadi in 2016.
