TN civic election results: DMK forges ahead

The local body elections in Tamil Nadu, held after a gap of eight years and the first after the demise of M Karunanidhi and J Jayalalithaa, have turned out to be advantage DMK. The results declared till Thursday night indicated a setback for the ruling AIADMK despite the decisiveness with which the party faced the polls. The DMK, which, on the other hand, appeared to be a reluctant participant, registered big wins across the state.
