Pongal gift distribution to start in TN on Jan 9

The Tamil Nadu government will disburse Rs 1,000 and a hamper -- containing one kg of rice, jaggery and other ingredients used for making sweet delicacy Pongal – as a Pongal gift to each of the 1.67 crore ration cardholders from January 9 to 12.
