8 die on NY's Eve in Chennai, Kancheepuram

At least eight people, including a lawyer and a college student, died in separate accidents on the city’s outskirts and in Kancheepuram on Tuesday night and in the early hours of Wednesday when the New Year revelry was at its peak. Police, however, said they were not able to confirm if any of the accidents were directly related to the celebrations.
