Koonthankulam Sanctuary: 68 painted storks dead

As many as 68 painted storks – including 65 chicks – died after heavy winds uprooted many trees in Koonthankulam Bird Sanctuary in Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu on Monday evening. The birds had their nests on the trees.
